FAMD · MADE BY PEEL LLC
Privacy Policy
Famd helps adults discover and connect with other families in their area. We designed Famd to collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide the service.
1. Who may use Famd
Famd is intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older and located in the United States. Children may not create Famd accounts. Adults provide any limited child information themselves; it is not collected directly from children.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the features you use, we may collect account information from Apple or Google such as your name, email address, authentication identifiers, and information needed to maintain and secure your account. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.
You may provide adult profile information such as your first name, age or age range, general household information, city, ZIP code, neighborhood or general area, interests, activities, work status, how long you have lived in an area, an abstract family avatar, and other information you choose to provide.
- For children: age, gender, and interests only. Famd does not require children’s names or photographs.
- For location: approximate device location with permission, or manual city and ZIP entry. Famd does not require precise GPS for core matching and does not intend to show a home address or exact real-time location.
- For matches: an optional adult profile photo or last name that you choose when to share.
- For chat: text messages needed to provide messaging. Famd chat does not support sending photos or files.
3. How we use information
- Create and maintain accounts; provide family discovery, matching, and messaging; provide approximate geographic matching; and personalize your experience.
- Provide support, investigate reports, prevent fraud, harassment, abuse, and misuse, and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines.
- Maintain and improve Famd, analyze product activation, engagement, reliability, and performance, comply with legal obligations, and protect Famd, our users, and others.
4. Mobile analytics and crash reporting
Famd uses Amplitude Analytics for product activation and engagement analytics and Sentry for application errors and crash reporting. These tools are not used for advertising attribution. We use the same provider projects across staging and production, with events labeled with the appropriate app environment.
Amplitude may receive app-open and authentication-completion events, family-onboarding completion, discovery participation, connection or interest actions, match creation, successful text-message-sent events, event timestamps, account type, locale, platform, app environment, and a pseudonymous installation or device identifier. After authentication, Famd may use the internal Supabase Auth user ID as Amplitude’s user identifier.
Famd does not intentionally send these providers names, email addresses, children’s names or identifying information, message contents, photos, exact addresses or precise location coordinates, passwords, authentication tokens, payment information, or arbitrary family-profile data. Automatic advertising IDs, carrier information, device model, operating-system details, language, IDFV, App Set ID, and IP-address collection are disabled in Amplitude where supported by the SDK.
Sentry is configured without intentional user identity association. PII collection is disabled, and request data, breadcrumbs, user data, arbitrary extras, and raw error messages are scrubbed before reporting. Performance tracing, profiling, failed-request capture, and session replay are disabled for launch.
- Amplitude and Sentry are service providers used to operate, improve, and secure the app; they are not used to sell personal information or provide behavioral advertising.
5. How matching works
Famd may use information about you, your family, your general location, your interests, and children’s ages, genders, and interests to help identify families who may be compatible. Certain details may be used privately for matching or filtering without being displayed publicly. Famd does not guarantee compatibility, friendship, identity, safety, or the accuracy of information provided by another user.
6. How information is shared
Information on your profile may be visible to other users as part of discovery and matching. An adult photo or last name may only become available after a match or when you affirmatively choose to share it. Text sent through Famd chat is visible to the recipient. When you remove, replace, or revoke a shared photo, Famd updates what it serves, but a photo already viewed, loaded, or saved by another person may remain on that device or in that person's own copy.
Service providers may process information on our behalf for cloud database, authentication and storage, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, infrastructure, and security. We may disclose information for legal, safety, security, fraud-prevention, or emergency reasons, and as part of a business transfer when permitted by law.
7. Marketing attribution and the Famd website
The Famd marketing website may use Tally to collect early-access beta interest. The website may preserve UTMs and anonymous community identifiers such as fb_01 or wa_01 so Tally can report which marketing link generated a signup. The mobile app does not integrate with Tally, Facebook, WhatsApp, AppsFlyer, Adjust, or Branch, and Famd does not currently connect those marketing identifiers to mobile accounts.
8. Advertising and sale of personal information
Famd does not contain third-party behavioral advertising. Famd does not sell personal information to advertisers. If practices materially change, we will update this policy and provide disclosures or choices required by law.
9. Retention and deletion
We retain information as reasonably necessary to provide Famd and meet legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, and safety needs. Provider retention periods may vary by provider, configuration, and account plan; we do not claim that Amplitude or Sentry data is automatically deleted unless a deletion workflow has been explicitly configured.
When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify associated Famd personal information except information we reasonably need to retain. Limited information may remain temporarily in encrypted backups until overwritten through the normal backup lifecycle. You can delete from account settings or use the instructions at famd.app/delete-account.
10. Your choices
- Edit your profile and control optional information.
- Choose whether to reveal certain information to matches, use manual location entry, and control push notifications.
- Unmatch, block, or report users, and delete your Famd account.
- Contact us to ask questions about analytics or crash reporting, request access or deletion where applicable, or ask us to review a privacy concern.
11. Children’s privacy and security
Famd is not directed to children. We ask adults not to provide children’s full names, contact information, or unnecessary identifying information. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
